Where can I find information about the k9 training used on Japanese-American soldiers after Pearl Harbor?

I’m writing a paper on how they used Japanese-American soldiers to train dogs to find Japanese enemies right after pearl harbor. The whole thing was unethical, but approved by the president. They sent the soldiers to Cat Island or something. I need to find information on it to source and such! Anyone know??

Oddly enough, this is true. "War Dogs" was a program in which people were supposed to volunteer the family dog to serve the war effort. The dogs were then trained to sniff out Japanese-Americans, who, it was believed, smelled different from other races. The training program was on Cat Island off Mississippi (not Cat Island in the Bahamas, as I originally posted).

PBS’ History Detectives did a show on this recently and has links on their website to some of the primary source documents.

October 31, 1942 Twenty-six men from the 100th (Company B, Third Platoon) leave Camp McCoy for Ship Island and Cat Island off the Mississippi Gulf coast, on special assignment to be used to train dogs to recognize and attack Japanese, based on their supposedly unique scent.

I am reading a book for my summer homework history class about the same subject. The book is called Eyes of the Emperor and is written by Graham Salisbury. I hope it helps.
